St. Katherine Kasper
St. Catherine Kasper was canonized on October 14, 2018, by Pope Francis. Catherine Kasper was born May 26, 1820 in Dernbach, Germany. Her parents were Henry Kasper and Katherine (Fassel). Her father had been married before and had four daughters. In his second marriage he and Katherine had four children: Peter, Christian, Catherine and Joseph.
As a young child of six, Catherine went to the school in her little village. Reading was the subject she liked most. She would help in the family's potato patch and with other tasks. Her mother taught her household chores as well as how to spin and weave fabric.

Sr. Judith Diltz
Sister Judith was born to Raymond and Monabelle (Wade) Diltz as a native of Mishawaka, She took her first vows as a Poor Handmaid in 1969.Since that time, she has ministered in education and served the Poor Handmaid community. She taught English at Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne; Mater Dei High School and Kaskaskia College in Breese, Illinois; and Marian High School in Mishawaka. She was the English and humanities professor / faculty assessment coordinator at Ancilla College in Donaldson, and Sister Judith also served as the PHJC vocation director, postulant/affiliate director and director for development. She has been provincial of the PHJC American Province since 2013.

Katherine Public School was established in 2006 by Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, Sisters whose Generalate (Mother house) is in Germany. It is a registered Society known as Katherine Kasper Social Service Society based out of Bangalore. Our school is located at Vidayanagar, Bangalore and our focus is to educate underprivileged children of poor quarry workers in the neighbourhood.
